Established in 1982, City Firewood is New Zealand’s leader in producing and retailing premium firewood.

Our purpose-built firewood kiln has set the standard for quality in both Christchurch, and New Zealand and allows us to turn around a premium product from forest to fire in 1-2 days year-round.

City firewood sells 25,000T annually into the domestic and commercial market in Christchurch and the wider Canterbury area.

Premium dry wood chip and hog fuel with the goal of supporting the decarbonisation of process heat in New Zealand.
We produce both dry hog fuel, and wood chips both internally and for external customers.
Our experience in processing and drying wood fuel for our own biomass boiler for almost 20 years has given us insight on boiler fuel optimisation.
With creating a circular economy at the core of what we do, we create garden and landscaping products from our low energy products
City Gardens uses 100% electric plant for processing to sell direct from our Christchurch city site to the end user, minimising transport.

We offer a range of barks and mulches, as well as chip, and sawdust available for pick-up, or delivery in from our Christchurch depot.
